University Hospitals has a great organization and continues to grow, which is a good thing in this economy for us at CaddFX Design Services. And they like most organizations under these positive circumstances have several floor plans of the space they own or lease, however, they were either out of date or never received the final As-built condition drawings once construction was completed.
As-Built drawings are often not available, but when many organizations negotiate or need new space, this is when As-Built floor plans are needed. These are utilized for space planning, test-fitting, and many other purposes. When this becomes a requirement, professionals such as CaddFX Designs Services will basically reverse engineer a building to develop As-built floor plans. We utilize SL-Laser equipment to gather point-to-point data.
CaddFX Design Services, contracted by University Hospitals to complete As-Builts for (10) cf their clinical offices, which ranged from 3,000 sq ft. to 6,000 sq. ft. in size. The final As-Builts of this project will serve multiple purposes, including presentation of spaces to their future doctors, Real Estate needs, and for tracking many assets within their Facility Management System.
Furthermore, the As-Built floor plans will be utilized by multiple departments within University Hospitals organization, including Facilities, Real Estate, and Engineering to name a few. These groups as with most organizations often operate in silos, but this is not the case at University Hospitals they all seek to benefit by sharing their data.
When businesses add additions or new buildings to their portfolio, Architects and Engineers need to have the latest up to date floor plan information. After the building is built, Facility Departments need to have the latest and up to date information to manage the life-cycle of operations while they occupy the building.
For each of these locations, we utilized our SL-Laser Equipment to gather and document all floor plan data. Once we completed this phase, our field technicians returned to the office with the laser shoot data, where our Engineers developed the detailed floors plans.
Finally, as with all of our projects, we conducted a quality review of the deliverables and compared them to the detailed scope to ensure all task and BOMA Guidelines were met. . Once this was complete the entire project was delivered to University Hospitals on CD.
We concluded the project with a very satisfied customer by delivering exactly what they asked for. Accuracy…..accuracy…accuracy!
